Position Description:

1.Overall purpose of job:

  • Co-ordinate the activities of the CDG area to ensure that work performed ultimately meets KRAs and customer requirements. 
  • Manage administrative tasks as and when required.
  • Run with ad hoc strategic projects as allocated by the Head Global Data Services
  • Deliver against business strategy and address areas of strategic importance in the pursuit of continuous improvement, in terms of people and processes

2.Position in department:

  • Directly responsible to: Head - Global Data Services
  • Subordinates directly supervised: 5
  • Subordinates indirectly supervised: 26

3.Regular liaison with:

Internal 

  • Other departments within CIB Operations. 
  • Human Resources. 
  • Corporate and Investment Banking IT 
  • Financial Control. 

External

  • Retail Banking 
  • SIH Entities 


 

 

Required Skills:

  • Previous Experience

The incumbent is expected to have:

  1. At least 5 years previous related industry or wholesale banking experience, with a proven track record of management at a senior level.
  2. A track record of delivery of strategic projects. The ideal candidate will have filled senior roles on various project boards with accountability towards the end product.
  3. Suitable knowledge/understanding of reference data systems and best practises
  4. Direct experience of outsourced operational arrangements, either buy or sell side.
  5. High computer literacy especially with regards to the MS Office suite of applications.
  6. Excellent communication skills at all levels both verbal and written.
  • Minimum level of education and /or knowledge
  1. A bachelors degree at honours level is preferred
  2. Fundamentals of Financial Markets
  • Additional preferred education/ knowledge
  1. Workings of a quality management system based on ISO 9001.
  2. Basic understanding of compliance KYC, FICA and AML
